BACKGROUND.   Victoré de Dzemael is the second eldest of his family, as a potential inheritor of the title of Count. His father, Isidore de Dzemael, has retired from his duties as Count; the eldest, Mattieu, has now assumed head of his family, and is Victoré's older brother. His younger brother is Grinnaux of the Heavens’ Ward. Victoré has two younger sisters, Yvette and Violaine.  BEFORE THE CALAMITY,   Victoré was a graduate of an engineering university in the city of Ishgard. Being a son of the Dzemael house, he was always expected to be a prolific architect, to further strengthen Ishgard’s industry and protective walls. During the construction of a dilapilated manor, Victoré was accused of being responsible towards the death of a construction worker— a young man of the family Fanouilley— as he and the man had an argument not long before the man fell from a scaffolding. Though Victoré insisted it was an accident, to avoid further political scandal he was sent to Gridania to continue his craftsmanship at the Carpenter’s Guild. There he pursued his education, and was eventually requested to help rebuild New Gridania following the fall of Dalamud.Victoré was eventually reinvited back to Ishgard, yet found himself unable to return to the city immediately after the Holy See sealed their borders to brace for a new wave of conflict with the Dravanian Horde. The unexpected hospitality of House Durendaire allowed him to stay the Observatorium until arrangements were made for his travel further north, where he rejoined his family yet felt alienated to the city he loved, seeing its many changes in his absence. Celebrating his brother’s appointment to the Heaven's Ward was quickly overtaken by the conflict and scandal surrounding the Archbishop and his Knights Twelve, until the culmination in Azys Lla.  FOLLOWING THE END OF THE DRAGONSONG WAR   — and the burial of his younger brother— Victoré dedicated himself to the Ishgardian Restoration, helping build a better future for the union of dragon and man. Donating plenty of gil and manual labour to the restoration, Victoré personally assisted with the design and construction of the Snowsoak Springs, and continues to oversee maintenance of both the Firmament and the Empyreum neighbourhoods.

FAMILY.

MATTIEU DE DZEMAEL   is the eldest of his five siblings, born to Count Isidore and Countess Ophélie de Dzemael. He is taciturn, passionately unrelenting, and was raised to regard House Dzemael as the apex of Ishgard. He is one of many Ishgardian nobles who struggle with permitting the changes of the future to push out the traditions of the past, though unlike his father, Mattieu makes much larger steps in understanding the necessary changes that must come to Ishgard so that She may still flourish. He is married to Laurienne de Dzemael (née la Treaumaille) and has two young boys, Lieutevoix and Matrellont.

GRINNAUX DE DZEMAEL   is the selfsame man holding the fourth seat of the Heavens' Ward appointed by the Archbishop Thordan VII. Hotblooded and sharp, he adored his elder siblings growing up and tried to emulate them at an early age. He found himself better suited as a family protector, where his brothers would study and design, he would conquer and build. With his eldest brother following their father as a future Count, and his second eldest brother exiled to Gridania, Grinnaux took instead to falling victim to his own bad habits, by getting into worse problems and indulging in his free life of 'few expectations', besides being a trueborn son of Dzemael.

YVETTE DE DZEMAEL   is the oldest of Isidore's daughters, though she herself was born only a few years after Grinnaux. Yvette is the most esoteric of her siblings, pursuing alchemical schools of knowledge with engineering as a secondary aspect. She weighs both theory and logic together, studying in Ul'dah in both its alchemy guild and thaumaturgy guild. Quiet, though not absentminded or otherwise ethereal; Yvette is well spoken and enjoys conversation with academics and theorists, and might even allow for a ridiculous theory to catch her attention and develop if it's particularly outrageous.

VIOLAINE DE DZEMAEL   is the youngest of Victoré's siblings, and who is the most jubilant of the five. She is bright, colourful, and jovial, with a love for fashion and makeup artistry. She primarily designs women's fashion for Ishgardian nobility, and is always seeing out whatever style and trend tips she can find in Ul'dah from her sister. She dreams of creating makeup with pigments found in all corners of Etheirys, and will talk the ear off of any adventurer who evensomuch as hints towards a worldly experience. She welcomes the new age of Ishgard with open arms and regards any new guest of the family with all the familiarity of any beloved friend.

more dzemaels to come!
